Mojtaba Sharifi 2

Mojtaba Sharifi received the B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran, in 2010 and the M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2012. He conducted a collaborative project in the Telerobotic and Biorobotic Systems Lab of the University of Alberta, Canada from 2015 to 2016 as a visiting doctoral researcher. Then, he earned the Ph.D. degree in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2017. He has published more than 40 papers and sections in high-quality journals, conferences and books until 2019 and his multi-disciplinary theoretical-experimental research area includes:

Control, Dynamics and Design of Robots (in Biomedical Applications: Rehabilitation, Surgery and Imaging)

Haptics, Collaborative Robotics and Tele-Robotics (Using Bilateral and Multilateral Control)

Optimal Control and Modeling of Musculoskeletal Systems (Considering CNS Principles)

Human-Robot Interaction (Using Impedance Control and Learning)

Wearable and Assistive Robots (Exoskeleton, Prosthesis and Orthosis)

Nonlinear, Adaptive, Optimal and Robust Control Methods

Dynamics and Control of Biological Systems

Mojtaba Sharifi is now with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Canada, as a postdoctoral research fellow since August 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Mahdi Tavakoli and Prof. Vivian Mushahwar.
