Masoud Jafaripour

Masoud Jafaripour is a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta. Before UofA, he was a research assistant in the Control Systems Lab. at the Sharif University of Technology, working on state estimation, autonomous navigation, and sensor fusion. He received his MSc degree in Control and Automation from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Sharif University of Technology. During his master's, he worked on attitude determination, control, and path planning, which endowed him with control systems and robotics skills. He graduated with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran. His Bachelor thesis was on magnetic levitation control. He is interested in the intersection of control theory, machine learning, and estimation theory with application to robotics, particularly medical and surgical ones. His future research in Telerobotic and Biorobotic Systems Group and SMART CREATE will be on Exoskeleton and Prosthetic Limb.
