Mahya Shahbazi

Mahya Shahbazi received her B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2008 and her M.Sc. degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2011. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, London, ON, Canada. Mahya is a trainee in the NSERC CREATE program in Computer-Assisted Medical Interventions and also research assistant at Canadian Surgical Technologies and Advanced Robotics (CSTAR), London, ON, Canada. She has joined Telerobotic & Biorobotic Systems Lab as a visiting research scholar at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada in 2014. Her main research interests are Medical Robotics, including applications in surgical training and Rehabilitation; Haptics and Teleoperation; Mechatronics; and Control Systems.
