Brief Biography
I was born and raised in Nanchang in China. I received my undergraduate education in
Beijing, graduate education in Toronto, and have taught in Calgary and Edmonton
in Alberta. Presently I am a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and
Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Intelligent Monitoring and Control at
the University of Alberta.
I received the 2021 IEEE Canada Outstanding Engineer Award with the citation for
outstanding contributions to the theory and applications of computer control systems,
networked control, remote state estimation, and advanced alarm management and design.
