Principal Investigator

Prof. Pedram Mousavi, Ph.D., P.Eng., SMIEEE

NSERC-AITF Industrial Research Chair in Intelligent Integrated Sensors Antennas.

Dr. Pedram Mousavi is an Associate Professor with Departments of Mechanical Engineering within Engineering Management group and Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta. He has over twelve years of entrepreneurial academic experience with start-up companies from the University of Waterloo and the University of Alberta. He founded Intelwaves Technologies based on the research that he initiated during his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Waterloo. His current mission is to foster a strong collaboration between industry and academia and stimulate more industry relevant research in wireless technologies.

He established Intelligent Wireless Technologies program at TRTECH and the University of Alberta to support Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) innovate, become more globally competitive, and create employment opportunities in the province of Alberta. He is currently an NSERC-AITF Industrial Research Chair in Intelligent Integrated Sensors and Antennas at the University of Alberta. Dr. Mousavi has more than 100 refereed journal and conference articles and several patents in this field. His research interests are in the areas of advanced intelligent antenna, UWB, wireless power transmission, microwave and millimetre-waves circuits and systems and 3-D printing electronics.

Dr. Mousavi is currently establishing the Intelligent Wireless Technology (IWT) lab at the University of Alberta.
