Our
book "Behavior
Dynamics in Media-Sharing Social Networks" (co-authored with Dr. W. Sabrina
Lin and Prof. K. J. Ray Liu) is published by
Cambridge University Press. It reviews the fundamental methodologies to
model and analyze human behavior, and shows how an understanding of human
behavior can improve system performance.
IEEE
Signal Processing Magazine Special Issue on "Signal and Information Processing
for Social Learning and Networking".
Lead guest editor: K. J. Ray Liu
(Univ. of Maryland),
Guest editors: Herve
Bourlard (Idiap Research Institute/EPFL),
Vikram Krishnamurthy (Univ. of
British Columbia), Yan
Lindsay Sun (Univ. of Rhode Island), and H. Vicky Zhao
Prof.
Yan Lindsay Sun at University of Rhode Island and I recently gave a
tutorial on "Multimedia Social Networks: Behavior Dynamics, Security, and
Beyond" at IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal
Processing (ICASSP 2010) in Dallas.

I
was selected to receive the IEEE Signal Processing Society 2008 Young Author
Best Paper Award. The paper, co-authored with
Prof. K. J. Ray Liu at Univ. of
Maryland, is entitled "Behavior Forensics for Scalable Multiuser Collusion:
Fairness vs Effectiveness" and appeared in the September 2006 issue of IEEE
Transactions on Information Forensics and Security. The award was presented
at a ceremony at the IEEE Int. Conf. on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing
(ICASSP) 2009. More

Our book "Multimedia Fingerprinting Forensics for Traitor Tracing"
(co-authored with Prof. K. J. Ray Liu, Prof. Wade Trappe, Prof. Z. Jane Wang,
Prof. Min Wu) addresses both fundamental and practical issues in multimedia
forensics for proactive protection of multimedia intellectual property rights.
