Financial Assistance

Several forms of financial assistance are available for well qualified graduate students, awarded on a competitive basis. Virtually all of the students accepted to work in my group receive full financial support through a combination of several sources. No special application form is required. All Applicants are considered for all sources of financial support. A typical award consists of a combination of (i) a research assistantship, (ii) a teaching assistantship. Research assistantships constitute the main source of support and are awarded directly by me. Teaching assistantships require a certain amount of service work in the form of marking assignments or similar. Exceptionally well qualified students can also be considered for one of several scholarships offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. These awards include: Nominations for these awards are made by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. No separate application is necessary. All applicants are considered.
