Dr Andy Knight is a member of the  Energy Systems Group  in the  Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering,  Faculty of Engineering, at the  University of Alberta.

Dr Knight is a Professional Engineer registered in the province of Alberta, Chartered Engineer and Member of the IET and a Senior Member of the IEEE.

Within the IEEE he is a member of the Industry Applications Society, Power & Energy Society, Industrial Electronics Society and Magnetics Society. A past Assocate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, he is currently the Secretary of the Electrical Machines Committee of IEEE IAS and member of the organizing committee for the IEEE ECCE conferences in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He is also a member of ICS, the International Compumag Society.
