on a ceb531 cad machine

   tar cf tempfonts.tar tempfonts
   rm -rf tempfonts

either from cad lab
       ftp  linuxmachine
login .....

    put tempfonts.tar
or from linux

login .....
    bin
    get tempfonts.tar

   either way
!!!!don't forget to be in binary mode to transfer tempfonts.tar !!!

linux
        cd ~
   tar -xf tempfonts.tar

 shift-click to get this file
-a modified mgc_font_convert script-
-- only works on linux boxes --

    mkdir mgc_fonts
    chmod 755 modified_mgc_font_convert
    ./modified_mgc_font_convert x11r5  tempfont mgc_fonts
    xset +fp ~/mgc_fonts
    rm -rf tempfonts

use ssh to connect to ceb531 - it will set you environment vars for you
(and it is secure)
otherwise

    xhost +
    telnet  cad{xx}.labs.ualberta
login .... then type (if not running ssh)
setenv DISPLAY {home ip address}:0.0    if you are running tcsh / csh

& then you are ready to run da
