| This page describes the submission of a draft (early) version of your
group's final report for peer review. For a description of the final report
requirements themselves, please see the Final Report
page.
Submission of a final report draft offers your group the
opportunity to have several reviewers provide feedback prior to submission
of the final version. This is a common procedure in industry and academia.
It is in your best interest to have the report as close to the
final version as possible in time for this draft submission. In academia, it
is often from such a review that a decision will be made as to whether or not
a paper should be accepted for publication. For your design group, having
reviewers examine a copy of a completed paper will mean that the feedback can, of
course, be relevant to the final submission.
Distribution of the Draft Reports to Reviewers
Shortly following the submission deadline, the copies of your report will be forwarded to the reviewers, selected in a random fashion. The reviewer may choose to remain anonymous, but all are asked to provide high-quality, professional reviews, as described in the corresponding section of the syllabus. Grading Grading of the draft report submission is based upon the degree of its completion in comparison to the goal of the end-product. A marking scheme is provided here. Late submissions are docked 50% per business day (or portion thereof) late due to the time-critical nature of this item: many subsequent items depend upon the completion of this item and the subsequent peer reviews. Submission To make submission, please submit as many copies as there are members in your group to the course submission box outside the ECE General Office by 4PM on the date noted in the syllabus. If, for instance, your group has 4 members, please submit four copies of the draft paper, separately stapled. There is no need to provide the review sheet as part of these paper submissions: these will be prepended by course personnel. |
