Please note that the content found by following the links, above, may be modified slightly as the term progresses.

There is no final exam in this course.

Please note that attendance taken during laboratory sessions will be used to assist in determination of the instructor- and GTA-evaluated components of the 'Lab Work' category.

Group work evaluation is carried out according to the method outlined in the portion of the syllabus common to both EE 400 and EE 401.

More information (including written document expectations) will be made available as the term progresses.

Grading:
As of September, 2003, the University of Alberta uses a (4-point) letter-grading scheme. Grades are assigned under this system and are guided by the Faculty of Engineering's suggested distribution for a fourth-year course.

Course Schedule:

Labs are staffed with instruction personnel Monday through Thursday from 2-4:50PM. Students have access to the lab outside of these hours via use of their One-Card. Should this privilege be abused in any way, card access will be revoked.

In EE401 the use of lab-time is at your group's discretion: no structured lab instruction takes place. There are, however, several course deadlines which will influence what activities your group is performing in a given week.

Lectures are used to communicate expectations of submitted work, and to provide information (technical and non-technical) that is relevant to modern designs and the design process.

A PDF version of the course schedule, including lecture topics, is available here: EE401 Winter 2010 Schedule. Important deadlines are highlighted in yellow and blue. Please make particular note of the date of the Presentations/Demonstrations and Poster Sessions held on Saturday, 10 April 2010 from 9AM until approximately 5PM.
